Agricultural science education accessibility varies significantly across regions, with disparities in enrollment, instructional resources, and instructional quality influencing youth engagement and long-term adoption of sustainable farming practices. This study addresses the persistent inequities in access to quality agricultural science education and its implications for regional agricultural development, food security, and rural livelihoods. The aim is to compare accessibility indicators across four representative regions differing in urbanization, income, and infrastructural development, and to identify structural, socio-economic, and policy-related determinants of observed differences. Specific objectives are to (i) quantify regional differences in enrollment in agricultural science courses, teacher qualifications, and availability of laboratory and farm-based learning resources; (ii) examine the relationship between regional socio-economic status, infrastructure, and policy frameworks and education accessibility; (iii) assess perceived barriers and enablers among students, teachers, and school administrators; (iv) evaluate how accessibility mediates student interest in agriculture-related careers and higher education pathways; and (v) propose a region-specific policy mix to enhance equitable access. A mixed-methods design is employed, integrating quantitative cross-sectional survey data with qualitative interviews to triangulate findings. The population comprises senior secondary schools and technical colleges within the four regions, with a target sample of 2,400 students, 320 teachers, and 80 school administrators. Stratified random sampling ensures representation across urban, peri-urban, and rural locales within each region, while purposive sampling selected key informants for in-depth interviews. Data collection instruments include a structured questionnaire capturing enrollment figures, teacher qualifications, resource availability, and perceived accessibility barriers, supplemented by school enrollment records and regional education statistics. Conversely, regions with limited funding, teacher shortages, and distance barriers show reduced participation and interest in agriculture-related pathways. The study anticipates significant mediation effects where resource availability and policy incentives partially explain the relationship between regional socio-economic status and educational access. The contribution to knowledge lies in providing an empirical, cross-regional assessment of agricultural science education accessibility, identifying mechanism-based leverage points for policy intervention, and extending the applicability of the Capability Approach to education equity in agriculture. The main conclusion is that regional disparities in agricultural science education accessibility are driven by intertwined structural and institutional constraints, which can be mitigated through targeted funding, workforce development, enhanced agricultural facilities, and locally responsive curricula. Recommendations include region-specific investment in laboratory and farm-based teaching facilities, incentives to attract and retain qualified agricultural science teachers, integrated school-farm partnerships, and policy reforms to subsidize transport and ICT access for disadvantaged schools to promote equitable agricultural education outcomes.
