Thesis Abstract
Agricultural vocational education plays a critical role in equipping learners with practical skills necessary for sustainable agricultural development, yet current training models often lack effective integration of experiential learning mechanisms that foster hands-on competencies and real-world problem-solving abilities. This study aims to develop a comprehensive framework to enhance agricultural vocational education through the systematic application of experiential learning models, specifically aiming to identify optimal pedagogical strategies, contextualize experiential frameworks within agricultural training, and improve student outcomes. The specific objectives include examining existing educational practices, analyzing the theoretical underpinnings of experiential learning in agricultural contexts, and proposing an integrated framework that aligns experiential strategies with vocational skill acquisition. The research adopts a mixed methods design, combining qualitative and quantitative approaches to ensure both depth of understanding and generalizability. The qualitative phase involved conducting semi-structured interviews and focus group discussions with 30 agricultural educators, industry practitioners, and vocational students to explore current pedagogical practices, perceptions of experiential learning, and contextual challenges. Quantitative data were collected through a structured survey administered to 300 agricultural vocational students across five technical colleges renowned for agricultural training, selected via stratified random sampling. Data collection instruments included a validated questionnaire measuring students’ experiential engagement, skills acquisition, and learning satisfaction, alongside interview protocols for educators’ pedagogical insights. Validity and reliability of the survey instrument were established through expert review and a pilot test yielding a Cronbach’s alpha coefficient of 0.87. Descriptive statistics, including means and standard deviations, summarized the quantitative data, while inferential analyses employed multiple regression analysis to identify predictors of effective experiential learning outcomes. The developed framework is expected to holistically guide agricultural educators and policymakers in structuring experiential modules aligned with vocational competency standards, thereby bridging the gap between academic knowledge and practical application. The study contributes novel insights into the contextualization of experiential learning within agricultural vocational education, advancing existing theoretical models with a tailored framework adaptable across diverse agricultural training institutions. It fills empirically identified gaps by providing evidence-based strategies for integrating experiential methodologies into curriculum design, assessment, and industry linkage initiatives. In conclusion, the research underscores the imperative of adopting structured experiential learning models to enhance the efficacy of agricultural vocational training. Recommendations include implementing the developed framework in pilot programs, strengthening industry-educator partnerships, and fostering continuous professional development for trainers. Future studies are suggested to explore longitudinal impacts of experiential learning interventions and their scalability across different regions and agricultural disciplines, ultimately promoting a more competent and resilient agricultural workforce.

A sample size of around 200 students and 20 teachers from vocational colleges will be selected using purposive sampling.
