This thesis investigates the potential of utilizing social media platforms for enhancing agricultural extension services in rural communities. The study explores how social media can be leveraged to address the challenges faced by rural farmers in accessing timely and relevant agricultural information and support. The research methodology employed a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews to gather data from rural farmers, agricultural extension workers, and social media experts. The literature review presents a comprehensive analysis of existing studies on agricultural extension services, social media adoption, and technology use in rural areas. The review highlights the benefits and challenges of integrating social media platforms into agricultural extension services and identifies gaps in current research that this study aims to address. The research methodology section outlines the data collection process, sampling techniques, and analysis methods used in the study. Data was collected through surveys distributed to rural farmers and interviews conducted with agricultural extension workers and social media experts. The qualitative data was analyzed thematically, while quantitative data was analyzed using statistical tools. Findings from the study reveal that social media platforms have the potential to significantly improve the delivery of agricultural extension services in rural communities. Farmers expressed a strong interest in receiving agricultural information through social media channels, citing convenience, accessibility, and timeliness as key benefits.
