This thesis investigates the potential of utilizing social media platforms for agricultural extension services to enhance farmer knowledge and practices. The study focuses on the role of social media in bridging information gaps, promoting sustainable agricultural practices, and fostering community engagement among farmers. Through a case study approach, the research explores how social media platforms can be effectively integrated into agricultural extension services to support knowledge dissemination, peer learning, and behavior change interventions. The study also examines the challenges and opportunities associated with leveraging social media for agricultural extension services in diverse farming communities. The literature review provides a comprehensive analysis of existing studies on the use of social media in agricultural extension and related fields. The review highlights the benefits of social media platforms in facilitating information sharing, communication, and collaboration among farmers, extension agents, and other stakeholders in the agricultural sector. Key themes such as digital divide, information overload, and trust in online information are explored to provide a theoretical framework for understanding the complexities of social media adoption in agricultural extension services.
