This thesis explores the application of mobile technology to enhance agricultural extension services in rural communities. The rapid advancements in mobile technology have opened up new opportunities to bridge the gap between agricultural extension services and rural farmers, thereby improving agricultural productivity and livelihoods. The study focuses on understanding the current challenges faced by rural communities in accessing agricultural extension services and how mobile technology can be leveraged to address these challenges effectively. The research methodology employed in this study includes a comprehensive literature review, qualitative interviews with key stakeholders in agricultural extension services, and a survey of rural farmers to gather insights into their preferences and needs. The findings reveal that there is a significant gap in the delivery of agricultural extension services to rural communities, leading to limited access to timely information, training, and resources. Mobile technology presents a promising solution to overcome these challenges by providing real-time information, interactive training modules, and networking opportunities for farmers.
