Investigating the role of women in agricultural extension programs.

Thesis Abstract

This research project aims to investigate the role of women in agricultural extension programs and their contribution to sustainable agricultural development. Women play a crucial role in agriculture, yet their participation and involvement in extension services are often overlooked. This study seeks to fill this gap by examining the extent of women's participation in agricultural extension programs, identifying the challenges they face, and exploring strategies to enhance their engagement. The research will employ a mixed-methods approach, combining surveys, interviews, and focus group discussions to gather data from both women farmers and extension service providers. The findings will provide insights into the importance of gender-responsive extension approaches and inform policy recommendations for promoting gender equality and women's empowerment in agriculture.
