<p> </p><p><strong>INTRODUCTION</strong></p><p><strong>1.1 &nbsp; &nbsp; </strong><strong>BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY</strong></p><p>In Enugu-East, the project tries to look and how to increase the production of arable crop such as maize, cassava and yam. The production of these crops in large quality of commercialization to sustain food security for the teeming population. Most inhabitations survive through agriculture which is they major acceptation in subsistence form.</p><p>However, one wonders why it is taking the local government so long to revitalize the agricultural sector despite its abundant land and know how. When this is done it will save the inhabitants of Enugu-East who are both Kwashiorkor or stricken and under monished.</p><p>While emphasizing the important of improving agricultural production of maize, cassava and yam, it is now clear to the government that dependency on external sources of food supply can be solved.</p><p>According to Enugu state journal, agriculture was the back bone of the states economic development and over 95% of the labour force was mostly form rural areas. Agricultural also, helped in the production of cassava into floor for bread industries, maize for custards and yam for fufu.
