The adoption of sustainable agricultural practices is vital for ensuring environmental health, economic viability, and social well-being among farming communities; however, disparities in the adoption rates between organic and conventional farmers remain underexplored, especially in the context of developing agricultural regions. This study aims to provide a comprehensive comparative analysis of the factors influencing farmers' adoption of sustainable practices within organic and conventional farming systems, with specific objectives to identify key motivators and barriers, evaluate the socio-economic and psychological determinants, and assess the relative influence of institutional and informational factors on adoption decisions. The research adopts a cross-sectional survey design, targeting a total population of 1,200 smallholder farmers in two agriculturally significant provinces where both farming systems are operational. A stratified random sampling technique is employed to select 600 respondents—equally divided between organic and conventional farmers—ensuring proportional representation of farming modalities.
