Access to agricultural extension services is crucial for the development of rural communities and the improvement of agricultural practices. With the rapid advancement of mobile technology, there is a growing interest in exploring its impact on agricultural extension services in rural areas. This thesis aims to assess the impact of mobile technology on agricultural extension services in rural communities, focusing on how mobile technology can enhance information dissemination, communication, and overall effectiveness of extension services. The study will employ a mixed-methods research approach, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews to gather data from farmers, agricultural extension workers, and other stakeholders in rural communities. The research will be conducted in several rural communities, selected based on their level of access to mobile technology and existing agricultural extension services. Chapter One provides an introduction to the research topic, background information, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance of the study, structure of the thesis, and definition of terms. Chapter Two presents a comprehensive literature review on the role of mobile technology in agricultural extension services, including its benefits, challenges, and existing studies on the topic.
