Assessing the effectiveness of farmer field schools in promoting sustainable agricultural practices.

Thesis Abstract

This research project aims to assess the effectiveness of farmer field schools (FFS) in promoting sustainable agricultural practices among small-scale farmers. FFS have gained popularity as a participatory and experiential learning approach in agricultural extension programs. However, there is a need to evaluate their impact on farmers' adoption of sustainable practices. The study will employ a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews, to gather data from a sample of FFS participants and non-participants. The findings will contribute to the understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of FFS as a tool for promoting sustainable agriculture and provide recommendations for improving their effectiveness.
