Agroecology and Regenerative Agriculture in Agricultural Extension

This research paper explores the concepts of agroecology and regenerative agriculture within the context of agricultural extension. Agroecology emphasizes the integration of ecological principles into agricultural systems, promoting biodiversity, soil health, and sustainable farming practices. Regenerative agriculture goes a step further by focusing on restoring and enhancing ecosystem services through holistic management approaches. This paper examines the potential benefits, challenges, and opportunities of incorporating agroecology and regenerative agriculture principles into agricultural extension programs. It also explores the role of extension agents in promoting and supporting farmers in adopting these practices. The findings of this study contribute to the understanding of how agricultural extension can contribute to the transition towards more sustainable and resilient farming systems.
