Agricultural Extension Approaches for Small-Scale Farmers

Thesis Abstract

This research paper explores the various agricultural extension approaches that are specifically designed for small-scale farmers. Small-scale farmers play a crucial role in global food production and rural development, yet they often face numerous challenges in accessing information, resources, and markets. Agricultural extension services can bridge this gap by providing tailored support and knowledge transfer to small-scale farmers. This paper examines different extension approaches, such as farmer field schools, participatory approaches, and ICT-based solutions, and evaluates their effectiveness in addressing the unique needs and constraints of small-scale farmers. The findings of this study contribute to the understanding of how agricultural extension can better serve small-scale farmers and promote their sustainable livelihoods.
