Precision farming is an advanced agricultural management concept that utilizes modern technologies to optimize input application based on site-specific needs of crops. The aim of this study was to evaluate different precision farming techniques and assess their potential for improving input use efficiency. Field experiments were conducted on maize and soybean crops to study the impact of variable rate technology (VRT), remote sensing, GPS-guided auto-steering and yield monitoring on fertilizer and pesticide application. Crop growth, yield and economic parameters were analyzed under conventional uniform and precision farming methods. The results showed significant savings in input costs and improvements in profitability with precision techniques compared to traditional practices.
