Silage making is an important technique for preservation of fodder during periods of scarcity. The study aims to evaluate different techniques of silage making from various crops and agro-industrial byproducts. Laboratory experiments will be conducted to study the effect of various additives, packing density and storage period on fermentation quality and nutrient retention of silages. Field experiments will also be carried out to study the effect of different silage making techniques on animal performance. The study findings will help to identify suitable silage making methods for different locally available feed resources.
