SUMMARY, CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Crop rotation is an important agricultural practice that helps in improving soil health and sustaining long term productivity. The current study aims to evaluate the effect of different crop rotation sequences involving cereals, pulses and oilseeds on soil physicochemical properties and nutrient availability. Field experiments will be conducted on a sandy loam soil to study the impact of rotations like maize-wheat, maize-chickpea, maize-mustard, sole maize and continuous maize on soil organic carbon, available nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and pH status after three crop cycles. Appropriate statistical tools will be employed to analyze the data. The study findings will help in recommending suitable crop rotations for enhancing soil fertility and maintaining soil quality.
