SUMMARY, CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Soil is the most important natural resource for agricultural production. However, intensive and unsustainable agricultural practices have degraded soil health in many parts of the world. It is important to monitor soil health periodically and take necessary remedial measures to maintain soil fertility. This project aims to evaluate different soil health monitoring techniques like physical, chemical and biological tests and compare their effectiveness, cost, and feasibility. Various soil remediation practices like addition of organic matter, use of biofertilizers, controlled traffic, etc. will also be studied. The results of the study will help farmers and extension workers in selecting appropriate soil health monitoring and management options.
