Exploring the Role of Adult Education in Promoting Sustainable Development

Sustainable development has emerged as a critical global priority, encompassing environmental, social, and economic dimensions. Adult education plays a crucial role in promoting sustainable development by fostering awareness, knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for individuals to contribute to sustainable practices in their personal lives, communities, and workplaces. This research project aims to explore the role of adult education in promoting sustainable development and investigate the strategies and approaches employed in adult education programs to address sustainability-related topics.
The research will begin with a comprehensive literature review to examine the theoretical foundations and empirical evidence on the relationship between adult education and sustainable development. It will analyze existing studies and initiatives that focus on adult education and sustainability to identify key factors, such as environmental literacy, behavior change, and community engagement, that contribute to successful sustainable development outcomes.

The research methodology will involve a mixed-methods approach. Quantitative data will be collected through surveys and assessments to measure the impact of adult education on participants' knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors related to sustainability. Qualitative data will be gathered through interviews and focus groups to gain insights into the experiences and perspectives of adult learners regarding the role of adult education in promoting sustainable development.
