Abstract
This thesis investigates the efficacy of probiotics in preventing gastrointestinal issues in dogs. Gastrointestinal problems are common in canines and can significantly impact their health and well-being. Probiotics are live microorganisms that are known to confer health benefits when consumed in adequate amounts. The use of probiotics as a preventive measure for gastrointestinal issues in dogs is gaining attention due to their potential to promote gut health and improve overall immune function. The research conducted in this thesis aims to evaluate the effectiveness of probiotics in reducing the incidence and severity of gastrointestinal problems in dogs. A comprehensive literature review was conducted to examine existing studies on probiotics and their impact on canine health. The review highlighted the potential benefits of probiotics in promoting a balanced gut microbiota, enhancing nutrient absorption, and strengthening the immune system in dogs. The research methodology employed in this study involved a randomized controlled trial with a sample of dogs divided into experimental and control groups. The experimental group received a daily probiotic supplement, while the control group received a placebo. The dogs were monitored over a specified period to assess the occurrence of gastrointestinal issues and evaluate the overall health status.
