This thesis investigates the effectiveness of probiotics in preventing and managing gastrointestinal disorders in dogs. Probiotics have gained attention as a potential therapeutic option due to their ability to modulate the gastrointestinal microbiota and promote beneficial gut health. The aim of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of probiotics in preventing and managing gastrointestinal disorders in dogs through a comprehensive review of existing literature, as well as a primary research component involving a controlled clinical trial. Chapter One provides an introduction to the research topic, including the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and definition of terms. The introduction sets the foundation for the study by highlighting the importance of gastrointestinal health in dogs and the potential benefits of probiotics in managing related disorders.
