The use of herbal remedies in veterinary medicine has gained popularity in recent years as an alternative or complementary approach to conventional treatments. This research project investigates the effectiveness of herbal remedies in the treatment of common ailments in companion animals. The study aims to provide valuable insights into the potential benefits and limitations of using herbal remedies in veterinary practice. The research methodology includes a comprehensive literature review to establish the current understanding of herbal remedies in veterinary medicine. This review covers various aspects, including the types of herbal remedies commonly used, their mechanisms of action, and existing evidence of their efficacy in treating different ailments in companion animals. In addition, the study involves the design and implementation of experiments to evaluate the effectiveness of selected herbal remedies in treating specific common ailments in companion animals. These experiments will be conducted using appropriate animal models under controlled conditions to assess the therapeutic effects of the herbal remedies. The findings from the experiments will be analyzed and discussed in detail in Chapter Four of the thesis.
