Thesis Overview

The project titled "Investigating the prevalence and risk factors of tick-borne diseases in domestic dogs in a specific region" aims to address the significant health concerns posed by tick-borne diseases in domestic dogs within a specific geographical area. Tick-borne diseases are a global health issue affecting both animals and humans, with domestic dogs being particularly susceptible to these illnesses due to their outdoor activities and close contact with environments where ticks thrive. This research project seeks to investigate the prevalence and risk factors associated with tick-borne diseases in domestic dogs within a defined region to enhance understanding and contribute to the development of effective prevention and control strategies. By focusing on a specific geographical area, the study aims to provide localized insights that can be used to tailor interventions to the unique conditions and challenges present in that particular region. The project will involve a comprehensive survey of domestic dogs in the target region to determine the prevalence of tick-borne diseases such as Lyme disease, Ehrlichiosis, Anaplasmosis, and others. Additionally, risk factors such as environmental conditions, dog behavior, preventive measures, and tick exposure will be assessed to identify key determinants of disease transmission and infection. Through a combination of field surveys, laboratory testing, and data analysis, this research will generate valuable information on the epidemiology of tick-borne diseases in domestic dogs, shedding light on the factors contributing to disease spread and persistence in the study area.
