Thesis Abstract

Abstract
The sustainable management of soil health and nutrient availability in agricultural fields is crucial for ensuring food security and environmental sustainability. This study focuses on the assessment of soil health and nutrient availability in agricultural fields using remote sensing techniques. The objective of this research is to develop a methodology that integrates remote sensing data with traditional soil sampling methods to assess soil health indicators and nutrient levels accurately and efficiently. The literature review in this study provides a comprehensive overview of the current state of research on soil health assessment, nutrient availability, and remote sensing applications in agriculture. The review highlights the importance of soil health monitoring for sustainable agricultural practices and the potential of remote sensing techniques to provide valuable insights into soil conditions. The research methodology employed in this study includes the collection of remote sensing data through satellite imagery and the ground-truthing of soil health indicators through field sampling. Various remote sensing indices and algorithms are utilized to assess soil properties such as organic matter content, nutrient levels, and moisture content. The study also incorporates geospatial analysis techniques to map soil health indicators across agricultural fields. The findings of this research reveal significant correlations between remote sensing data and traditional soil sampling results, demonstrating the potential of remote sensing techniques for assessing soil health and nutrient availability. The discussion of findings highlights the strengths and limitations of using remote sensing for soil health assessment and provides recommendations for future research and application in agricultural management practices. In conclusion, this study contributes to the advancement of soil health assessment methodologies by integrating remote sensing techniques with traditional soil sampling methods. The results demonstrate the feasibility of using remote sensing data for monitoring soil health indicators and nutrient availability in agricultural fields. This research has practical implications for farmers, agronomists, and policymakers in improving soil management practices and enhancing agricultural productivity in a sustainable manner.
