Thesis Abstract

Abstract
The increasing demand for sustainable and environmentally friendly methods in the synthesis of metal nanoparticles has led to a growing interest in utilizing plant extracts as reducing agents and stabilizers. This research project focuses on investigating the green synthesis of metal nanoparticles using plant extracts for catalytic applications in industrial chemistry. The study aims to explore the potential of plant extracts in producing metal nanoparticles with enhanced catalytic properties, as well as to evaluate their performance in various industrial applications. The research will begin with a comprehensive review of the literature to provide a background on the green synthesis of metal nanoparticles, the role of plant extracts in nanoparticle synthesis, and the applications of metal nanoparticles in catalysis. The methodology section will outline the experimental procedures involved in the synthesis of metal nanoparticles using plant extracts, including characterization techniques such as UV-Vis spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, and transmission electron microscopy. The findings from the experimental work will be discussed in detail in Chapter Four, where the catalytic properties of the synthesized metal nanoparticles will be evaluated through various catalytic reactions. The discussion will also cover the influence of different factors such as plant extract concentration, metal precursor concentration, and reaction conditions on the catalytic activity of the nanoparticles. In conclusion, the study will provide insights into the potential of plant extract-mediated synthesis of metal nanoparticles for catalytic applications in industrial chemistry. The results obtained from this research will contribute to the development of eco-friendly and cost-effective methods for producing metal nanoparticles with enhanced catalytic properties, opening up new avenues for their utilization in various industrial processes.
