Thesis Abstract

Abstract
Cardiovascular diseases are a leading cause of mortality worldwide, with sedentary behavior being a significant risk factor. High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) has emerged as a time-efficient exercise strategy with potential benefits for cardiovascular health. This thesis investigates the effects of HIIT on cardiovascular health in sedentary individuals. The study aims to explore the impact of HIIT on various cardiovascular parameters, including blood pressure, heart rate, lipid profiles, and vascular function. A systematic literature review was conducted to examine existing evidence on the effects of HIIT on cardiovascular health. The research methodology involved a randomized controlled trial design, with sedentary participants undergoing a structured HIIT program over a defined period. Cardiovascular assessments were performed pre- and post-intervention to evaluate changes in cardiovascular parameters. The findings of the study indicate that HIIT is an effective intervention for improving cardiovascular health in sedentary individuals. Significant improvements were observed in blood pressure, heart rate, lipid profiles, and vascular function following the HIIT program. These results highlight the potential of HIIT as a valuable exercise strategy for promoting cardiovascular health among sedentary individuals. The study contributes to the existing literature by providing new insights into the benefits of HIIT on cardiovascular health and underscores the importance of regular physical activity in maintaining a healthy cardiovascular system. The implications of these findings are significant for public health initiatives aimed at reducing the burden of cardiovascular diseases associated with sedentary lifestyles. Overall, this thesis underscores the importance of incorporating HIIT into physical activity recommendations for sedentary individuals to improve cardiovascular health and reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases.
