Abstract
This thesis focuses on the development of novel drug delivery systems for targeted cancer therapy. Cancer remains one of the leading causes of mortality worldwide, necessitating the continuous exploration of innovative treatment approaches. Traditional cancer treatments often lack specificity, leading to significant side effects and limited efficacy. Targeted drug delivery systems have emerged as a promising strategy to enhance the therapeutic outcomes of cancer treatment by delivering medications directly to cancer cells while sparing healthy tissues. The introduction provides an overview of the current challenges in cancer therapy and the rationale for developing targeted drug delivery systems. The background of the study explores the existing drug delivery approaches and their limitations, highlighting the need for novel strategies. The problem statement identifies the gaps in current cancer treatment modalities and underscores the importance of developing targeted drug delivery systems to address these challenges. The objectives of the study include the design and optimization of novel drug delivery systems for targeted cancer therapy.
