Abstract
The treatment of cancer remains a significant challenge in the field of medicine, with conventional chemotherapy often associated with severe side effects due to non-specific targeting of healthy cells. The development of novel drug delivery systems for targeted cancer therapy has emerged as a promising approach to enhance the efficacy and reduce the toxicity of anticancer drugs. This thesis focuses on the design and evaluation of a novel drug delivery system for targeted cancer therapy, with a specific emphasis on addressing the limitations of current treatment modalities. Chapter one provides an introduction to the research topic, including the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and definition of terms. The literature review in chapter two explores ten key aspects related to drug delivery systems, cancer therapy, targeted drug delivery, nanoparticles, and other relevant topics to provide a comprehensive understanding of the current state of the field. Chapter three outlines the research methodology employed in this study, including the selection of materials, fabrication techniques, in vitro and in vivo evaluation methods, and data analysis procedures.
