Abstract
This thesis presents the research conducted on the development and evaluation of novel drug delivery systems for targeted cancer therapy. Cancer remains a leading cause of morbidity and mortality globally, necessitating the exploration of innovative approaches to enhance treatment efficacy while minimizing adverse effects. The focus of this study was to design drug delivery systems that can specifically target cancer cells, thereby improving therapeutic outcomes and reducing systemic toxicity. The introduction provides a comprehensive overview of the background of the study, outlining the current challenges in cancer therapy, the significance of targeted drug delivery systems, and the objectives of the research. The study aims to address the limitations of conventional cancer treatments by developing novel drug delivery systems with enhanced targeting capabilities. The literature review critically examines existing research on drug delivery systems for cancer therapy, highlighting the importance of targeted drug delivery in improving treatment efficacy and patient outcomes. Key concepts such as nanomedicine, liposomes, nanoparticles, and antibody-drug conjugates are discussed in relation to their potential applications in targeted cancer therapy.
