Childhood obesity has become a significant public health concern globally, with increasing prevalence attributed largely to poor dietary habits and insufficient parental guidance on nutrition. Recognizing the pivotal role parents play in shaping their children's eating behaviors, this study investigates the impact of parental nutrition education on strategies for preventing childhood obesity. The primary aim is to evaluate whether targeted nutrition education interventions for parents lead to improved dietary practices and reduced obesity risk among children aged 4 to 12 years. Specific objectives include assessing parental knowledge of nutrition, examining changes in parental feeding behaviors post-intervention, and evaluating resultant differences in children's BMI and dietary intake. The study adopts a quasi-experimental research design with pre- and post-intervention assessments. The population comprises 300 parent-child dyads recruited from primary healthcare centers in urban settings, with a stratified random sampling technique employed to select participants. Data collection involves structured questionnaires to measure parental nutrition knowledge and feeding practices, dietary recall logs for children, and standardized anthropometric measurements for children’s height and weight.
