This thesis explores the effectiveness of Virtual Reality (VR) therapy in managing pain and anxiety in children undergoing medical procedures. The use of VR technology has gained significant attention in healthcare settings as a non-pharmacological intervention to alleviate pain and anxiety. Children often experience high levels of distress during medical procedures, which can have negative effects on their overall well-being and treatment outcomes. This study aims to investigate the impact of VR therapy on pain perception and anxiety levels in pediatric patients undergoing various medical procedures. The research methodology employed in this study includes a systematic literature review to examine existing evidence on the use of VR therapy in pediatric healthcare. The review covers studies that have explored the application of VR technology in managing pain and anxiety in children undergoing medical procedures. The findings from the literature review provide a comprehensive overview of the current state of research in this area and highlight gaps that warrant further investigation. In addition to the literature review, this study includes a quantitative research component where data is collected from pediatric patients undergoing medical procedures. The data collection process involves assessing pain levels and anxiety scores before and after the implementation of VR therapy. The study aims to compare these outcomes to evaluate the effectiveness of VR therapy in reducing pain and anxiety in pediatric patients. The results of this study are expected to contribute to the growing body of evidence on the benefits of VR therapy in pediatric healthcare.
