This thesis investigates the impact of virtual reality (VR) technology on pain management in pediatric patients undergoing medical procedures. Pain management in pediatric patients is a critical aspect of healthcare due to the vulnerability of this population and the potential long-term consequences of unmanaged pain. Virtual reality has emerged as a promising non-pharmacological intervention for pain management, offering distraction and relaxation techniques that can alleviate pain perception during medical procedures. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of VR technology in reducing pain levels and improving the overall experience of pediatric patients undergoing medical procedures. The research methodology employed in this study includes a systematic literature review to establish the current evidence base on the use of VR technology for pain management in pediatric patients. Subsequently, a quantitative research approach will be utilized to collect data from pediatric patients undergoing medical procedures in a clinical setting. The data will be analyzed using statistical methods to evaluate the impact of VR technology on pain perception, anxiety levels, and overall patient experience. The findings of this study are expected to contribute to the existing body of knowledge on non-pharmacological pain management strategies in pediatric healthcare.
