Telemedicine has emerged as a promising solution to improve access to healthcare services, particularly in pediatric care. This thesis aims to assess the impact of telemedicine on pediatric healthcare delivery by examining its effectiveness, challenges, and implications for healthcare providers and patients. The study is guided by the following objectives to explore the background and context of telemedicine in pediatric care, to identify the problem areas in pediatric healthcare delivery that telemedicine can address, to determine the objectives of utilizing telemedicine in pediatric care, to discuss the limitations and challenges associated with telemedicine implementation in pediatric healthcare, to define the scope of telemedicine applications in pediatric care, to highlight the significance of integrating telemedicine in pediatric healthcare delivery, to outline the structure of the thesis, and to provide definitions of key terms used in the study. Chapter 1 provides an introduction to the research topic, discussing the background of telemedicine in pediatric care, presenting the problem statement, outlining the objectives, addressing the limitations and challenges, defining the scope of the study, highlighting the significance of the research, explaining the structure of the thesis, and defining key terms. Chapter 2 comprises a comprehensive literature review that explores ten key aspects related to telemedicine in pediatric healthcare delivery. The review includes discussions on the history of telemedicine, current trends in pediatric telehealth, benefits and challenges of telemedicine in pediatric care, legal and ethical considerations, technological advancements, patient and provider perspectives, cost-effectiveness, and outcomes of telemedicine interventions.
