Thesis Abstract
Abstract
Telehealth, the use of technology to deliver healthcare services remotely, has gained significant attention in recent years for its potential to improve patient care and healthcare provider satisfaction. This thesis investigates the impact of telehealth on patient care and nurse satisfaction in a community hospital setting. The study aims to explore how telehealth interventions affect patient outcomes, the quality of care provided, and the job satisfaction of nurses in a community hospital environment. The research methodology employed in this study includes a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative surveys with qualitative interviews. A sample of patients receiving telehealth services and nurses delivering care through telehealth will be recruited from a community hospital. Data will be collected on patient health outcomes, satisfaction levels, nurse workload, and job satisfaction before and after the implementation of telehealth services. The literature review highlights the benefits and challenges of telehealth in various healthcare settings, emphasizing the importance of patient-centered care and effective communication in telehealth interventions. Theoretical frameworks such as the Technology Acceptance Model and the Job Demands-Resources Model will be utilized to understand the factors influencing the adoption of telehealth and its impact on nurse satisfaction. The findings of this study are expected to provide valuable insights into the effectiveness of telehealth in improving patient care and nurse satisfaction in a community hospital setting. The results will contribute to the existing body of knowledge on telehealth implementation and inform healthcare organizations on best practices for integrating telehealth into their services. In conclusion, this thesis aims to address the gap in research on the impact of telehealth on patient care and nurse satisfaction in a community hospital setting. By examining the experiences of patients and nurses with telehealth services, this study seeks to provide evidence-based recommendations for optimizing telehealth interventions to enhance patient outcomes and nurse job satisfaction.
Thesis Overview
The project titled "Investigating the Impact of Telehealth on Patient Care and Nurse Satisfaction in a Community Hospital Setting" aims to explore the implications of incorporating telehealth services into the healthcare delivery system of a community hospital. Telehealth, which involves the use of technology to provide healthcare services remotely, has gained traction in recent years as a means to improve access to care, enhance patient outcomes, and streamline healthcare operations. This research seeks to investigate how the integration of telehealth practices influences both patient care and nurse satisfaction within the unique context of a community hospital setting.
The utilization of telehealth services in healthcare settings presents a promising opportunity to bridge gaps in care delivery, particularly in underserved communities where access to traditional healthcare services may be limited. By leveraging telecommunication technologies such as video conferencing, remote monitoring devices, and mobile apps, healthcare providers can deliver timely and efficient care to patients regardless of geographical barriers. This project will delve into the specific ways in which telehealth interventions impact the quality of care received by patients in a community hospital setting.
Furthermore, the research will also explore the effects of telehealth implementation on nurse satisfaction levels within the hospital environment. Nurses play a crucial role in the delivery of healthcare services, and their job satisfaction is closely linked to patient outcomes and overall quality of care. By investigating how telehealth technologies influence the daily workflow, job responsibilities, and job satisfaction of nurses, this study aims to provide valuable insights into the implications of telehealth adoption for healthcare professionals.
The project will employ a mixed-methods research approach, combining quantitative data analysis with qualitative interviews and surveys to gather comprehensive insights into the experiences and perceptions of both patients and nurses regarding telehealth services. By collecting and analyzing data on patient outcomes, nurse satisfaction levels, operational efficiencies, and overall healthcare delivery processes, this research seeks to identify key factors that contribute to the successful integration of telehealth in a community hospital setting.
Ultimately, the findings of this study are expected to shed light on the potential benefits and challenges associated with the adoption of telehealth technologies in community hospitals, with a specific focus on enhancing patient care and nurse satisfaction. By examining the impact of telehealth on various aspects of healthcare delivery, this research aims to inform healthcare policymakers, hospital administrators, and healthcare providers about the implications of incorporating telehealth services into community hospital settings, thereby contributing to the ongoing efforts to improve healthcare access, quality, and outcomes.
