Abstract
This study aims to investigate the relative academic performances of senior secondary school students in the subject of Home Economics in external examinations from 2009 to 2015, focusing on a case study of Oturkpo Local Government Area (L.G.A). The research will analyze the trends in academic performance over the selected seven-year period to identify any patterns or changes that may have occurred. Data will be collected from the examination records of students who took the external examinations during this time frame. The study will employ a mixed-methods approach, utilizing both quantitative and qualitative data analysis techniques. Quantitative analysis will involve statistical methods to compare and contrast the academic performances of students across the different years under review. Qualitative analysis will involve interviews and surveys to gather insights from teachers, students, and other stakeholders in the education sector within the L.G.A. The findings of this research will provide valuable insights into the academic performances of senior secondary school students in Home Economics within the Oturkpo L.G.A.
