This thesis examines the impact of sustainable farming practices on household food security in rural communities. The study aims to assess the effectiveness of sustainable farming methods in enhancing food production and availability, thereby improving the overall food security situation of households in rural areas. The research is motivated by the persistent issue of food insecurity in rural communities, which is often exacerbated by factors such as climate change, limited access to resources, and unsustainable agricultural practices. Through a comprehensive literature review, the study explores various sustainable farming practices that have been proven to increase agricultural productivity, improve soil health, and enhance resilience to environmental challenges. The research methodology involves a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews with farmers and key stakeholders in selected rural communities. Data collection will focus on gathering information on current farming practices, food production levels, household food consumption patterns, and perceptions of food security. The analysis will involve statistical techniques to evaluate the impact of sustainable farming practices on food security indicators such as dietary diversity, food availability, and nutritional status.
