Abstract
This thesis investigates the role of sustainable agricultural practices in enhancing food security within rural communities. The study aims to assess the effectiveness of various agricultural practices in promoting sustainable food production and improving food access and availability in rural areas. The research methodology employed a mixed-methods approach, including surveys, interviews, and field observations to gather data from selected rural communities. The findings revealed that sustainable agricultural practices such as crop diversification, organic farming, water conservation, and integrated pest management significantly contribute to food security by increasing crop yields, improving soil fertility, and reducing the dependency on external inputs. Moreover, the study identified challenges and limitations in implementing sustainable agricultural practices, including lack of awareness, inadequate resources, and limited access to markets. The discussion of findings emphasizes the importance of government support, community participation, and capacity building in promoting sustainable agriculture for food security in rural areas. The conclusion highlights the significance of integrating sustainable agricultural practices into rural development policies and programs to ensure long-term food security and enhance the resilience of rural communities in the face of environmental and economic challenges.
