Thesis Abstract
Abstract
This research project aims to investigate the therapeutic effects of group counseling on the study habit problems of secondary school students. Study habits play a crucial role in determining academic success, and many students face challenges in developing effective study habits. Group counseling is a widely used therapeutic intervention that offers a supportive environment for students to address their study habit problems. The research will be conducted using a pre-test post-test control group design to assess the impact of group counseling on students' study habits. A sample of secondary school students with identified study habit problems will be randomly assigned to either the experimental group, which will receive group counseling sessions, or the control group, which will not receive any intervention. The study will assess the participants' study habits before and after the group counseling sessions using standardized assessment tools. The group counseling sessions will be conducted by trained counselors and will focus on strategies to improve study habits, such as time management, organization, goal setting, and stress management. The sessions will also provide a platform for students to share their experiences, challenges, and successes related to their study habits. The counselors will offer guidance, support, and practical tips to help students overcome their study habit problems. The research aims to determine whether group counseling can lead to significant improvements in students' study habits. The study will analyze the changes in study habits between the experimental and control groups to assess the effectiveness of group counseling as a therapeutic intervention for addressing study habit problems. The findings of this research can provide valuable insights into the benefits of group counseling in improving study habits and academic performance among secondary school students. Overall, this research project seeks to contribute to the existing literature on therapeutic interventions for students with study habit problems. By examining the effects of group counseling on study habits, the research aims to provide evidence-based recommendations for educators, counselors, and policymakers to support students in developing effective study habits and achieving academic success.
