Thesis Abstract

Abstract
**
This research investigates the phenomenon of urban heat islands (UHIs) through geospatial analysis techniques. UHIs occur when urban areas experience significantly higher temperatures compared to surrounding rural areas due to human activities and built environment factors. Using remote sensing data and geographic information systems (GIS), this study aims to analyze spatial patterns of UHIs, identify contributing factors such as land cover, land use, and urban morphology, and assess the impacts of UHIs on urban microclimates and public health. The findings of this research will contribute to the development of strategies for mitigating UHI effects and enhancing urban climate resilience.
