The proliferation of digital technology has fundamentally transformed how university students access information and participate in civic activities, raising important questions about the relationship between digital literacy and civic engagement. This study investigates the extent to which digital literacy influences civic participation among university students, focusing on how competence in digital skills affects their involvement in community service, political awareness, and advocacy activities. The primary aim is to elucidate the relationship between digital literacy levels and various dimensions of civic engagement, thereby informing strategies to enhance participatory behaviors through targeted digital literacy interventions. The study is guided by the Theory of Planned Behavior (Ajzen, 1991) and the Digital Competence Framework (Carretero et al., 2017), which provide conceptual lenses to analyze how perceived ease of digital communication and actual digital skills influence civic attitudes and behaviors.
