In an increasingly interconnected academic landscape, understanding how cultural contexts influence the development and manifestation of critical thinking skills among higher education students remains an essential yet underexplored area of research. This study addresses the pressing need to compare critical thinking abilities across distinct cultural settings, aiming to elucidate cultural factors that shape students’ reasoning, problem-solving, and analytical capabilities. The primary objective is to identify variances in critical thinking skills among university students in East Asia, Europe, and North America, and to examine how cultural dimensions as articulated by Hofstede’s cultural values framework and the Cultural Intelligence Theory influence these skills.
