Abstract
This research project explores the multifaceted relationship between art and conflict, specifically focusing on the representation of war in various artistic forms. Through an interdisciplinary approach that merges art history, cultural studies, and conflict studies, this study aims to analyze how artists have depicted war and its consequences throughout history. By examining diverse artworks ranging from paintings and sculptures to multimedia installations, the research seeks to uncover the nuanced ways in which artists engage with themes of violence, trauma, heroism, and resistance. Additionally, the project investigates the socio-political contexts surrounding the creation and reception of war art, considering factors such as propaganda, censorship, and memory. Ultimately, this study aims to contribute to a deeper understanding of the role of art in reflecting, shaping, and contesting perceptions of war and conflict in society.
