Urban green spaces are critical components of sustainable city development, providing ecological, social, and economic benefits; however, their management practices vary significantly between indigenous and modern communities, often reflecting differing cultural values, knowledge systems, and governance structures. Despite the increasing recognition of indigenous ecological knowledge in sustainable urban management, there remains a paucity of comparative analyses that systematically evaluate how these differing approaches influence green space outcomes, conservation efforts, and community well-being. This study aims to conduct a comprehensive comparative analysis of urban green space management in indigenous versus modern communities within the metropolitan area of Greenfield City, with a specific focus on identifying key differences, similarities, and factors influencing management effectiveness. The research objectives include evaluating management practices, community participation levels, ecological sustainability measures, and socio-economic impacts associated with green space governance in the two community types. The study adopts a mixed-methods research design, combining qualitative and quantitative approaches to yield a nuanced understanding of the phenomena.
