Abstract
This thesis presents a comprehensive assessment of the effectiveness of waste management practices in reducing environmental pollution. The escalating levels of environmental pollution around the world have brought waste management to the forefront of sustainability efforts. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the impact of waste management practices on mitigating environmental pollution and to identify areas for improvement in current waste management strategies. The research methodology employed a combination of quantitative and qualitative approaches to collect and analyze data. A detailed literature review was conducted to examine existing waste management practices and their effectiveness in reducing environmental pollution. The study also involved field surveys, interviews with key stakeholders, and analysis of relevant statistical data to assess the current state of waste management systems. The findings of the study revealed that while significant progress has been made in waste management practices, there are still challenges that need to be addressed. The research identified key factors influencing the effectiveness of waste management, including public awareness, technological advancements, policy frameworks, and stakeholder engagement. It was observed that proper segregation, recycling, and disposal of waste play a crucial role in minimizing environmental pollution. The discussion of the findings highlighted the importance of implementing sustainable waste management practices to achieve long-term environmental benefits. The study emphasized the need for collaborative efforts among government agencies, industries, communities, and individuals to promote responsible waste management practices. Recommendations were provided for enhancing waste management systems, such as improving recycling infrastructure, increasing public awareness, and strengthening regulatory frameworks. In conclusion, this thesis contributes to the existing body of knowledge on waste management practices and their impact on environmental pollution. The research underscores the significance of adopting sustainable waste management practices to protect the environment and human health. By evaluating the effectiveness of waste management strategies, this study provides valuable insights for policymakers, environmentalists, and stakeholders involved in waste management initiatives.
