This thesis presents an assessment of sustainable waste management practices in urban areas, focusing on strategies to improve waste management efficiency, reduce environmental pollution, and enhance resource recovery. Chapter One provides an introduction to the research topic, highlighting the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, and structure of the thesis. The chapter also defines key terms relevant to waste management in urban areas. Chapter Two consists of a comprehensive literature review that examines existing research on sustainable waste management practices in urban areas.
