The use of magical realism in Latin American literature

Thesis Abstract

This project investigates the literary technique of magical realism in the context of Latin American literature. Through an analysis of works by authors such as Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Isabel Allende, and Laura Esquivel, this study aims to explore the unique blend of reality and fantasy that characterizes magical realism. By examining the cultural and historical influences on this literary style, the project seeks to shed light on the ways in which magical realism has been used to convey social, political, and cultural themes in Latin American literature.
