Abstract
Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) plays a crucial role in the economic development of developing countries by contributing to economic growth, creating employment opportunities, transferring technology, and enhancing international trade. This research study aims to investigate the impact of Foreign Direct Investment on economic growth in developing countries. The study focuses on analyzing the relationship between FDI inflows and various indicators of economic growth such as Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth, industrial output, employment generation, and export competitiveness. The research methodology employed in this study is a mixed-method approach, combining both quantitative and qualitative analyses. A comprehensive literature review is conducted to explore existing theories, empirical studies, and debates on the topic. The study also includes a detailed analysis of statistical data from various developing countries to examine the patterns and trends of FDI inflows and their impact on economic growth. The findings of the study reveal that FDI inflows have a significant positive impact on economic growth in developing countries. The analysis shows that higher levels of FDI contribute to increased GDP growth, industrial production, employment opportunities, and export competitiveness. However, the study also identifies certain challenges and limitations associated with FDI, such as technological dependency, environmental concerns, and uneven distribution of benefits. The research concludes with policy recommendations aimed at maximizing the benefits of FDI for economic growth in developing countries. These recommendations include promoting investment-friendly policies, enhancing infrastructure development, fostering innovation and technology transfer, and improving the regulatory framework for foreign investors. Overall, this study contributes to the existing literature on the impact of FDI on economic growth in developing countries and provides valuable insights for policymakers, investors, and researchers interested in understanding the dynamics of FDI and its implications for economic development.
