Abstract
This thesis investigates the effectiveness of laser therapy in managing periodontal disease, aiming to contribute to the existing body of knowledge in dentistry. Periodontal disease is a prevalent oral health issue that affects a significant portion of the global population, leading to tooth loss and systemic health implications if left untreated. Laser therapy has emerged as a promising treatment modality in dentistry, offering potential advantages in terms of precision, patient comfort, and reduced invasiveness compared to traditional treatment methods. However, there is a need for further research to comprehensively assess the efficacy of laser therapy in managing periodontal disease. The study begins with a comprehensive literature review in Chapter Two, which explores existing research on laser therapy in periodontal disease management. Various aspects, including the mechanisms of action of lasers, types of lasers used, treatment protocols, and clinical outcomes, are critically examined to provide a solid theoretical foundation for the research. Chapter Three details the research methodology employed in this study. The research design, sample selection criteria, data collection methods, and statistical analysis techniques are outlined to ensure the rigor and reliability of the research findings. In Chapter Four, the findings of the study are discussed in detail. The outcomes of the laser therapy intervention in managing periodontal disease are analyzed, considering parameters such as clinical attachment level, pocket depth reduction, and patient-reported outcomes.
