Body-worn cameras (BWCs) have become increasingly prevalent in law enforcement agencies worldwide as a tool to enhance transparency, accountability, and public trust. This thesis investigates the impact of BWCs on police officer behavior and citizen perceptions in the context of modern policing. The study aims to explore how the use of BWCs influences police officer behavior in terms of adherence to policies and procedures, interactions with citizens, and overall job performance. Additionally, it seeks to understand how citizens perceive the presence of BWCs during police interactions, including their attitudes towards law enforcement, feelings of safety, and levels of trust. The research methodology employed in this study includes a comprehensive literature review to provide a theoretical foundation for understanding the implications of BWCs on policing practices and public perceptions. The study also utilizes both qualitative and quantitative research methods, including surveys, interviews, and observational data analysis, to gather empirical evidence on the impact of BWCs. The findings of this study suggest that the use of BWCs can have a significant impact on police officer behavior, leading to increased accountability, adherence to protocols, and professionalism in interactions with citizens.
