This thesis investigates the effectiveness of closed-circuit television (CCTV) surveillance in reducing crime rates within urban areas. The study focuses on exploring the impact of CCTV surveillance on crime prevention strategies and its implications for enhancing public safety in urban settings. The research employs a case study approach to analyze the practical application and outcomes of CCTV surveillance in a selected urban area. The methodology involves a combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis, including interviews, surveys, and statistical data analysis. The introduction provides a comprehensive overview of the background of the study, highlighting the increasing prevalence of CCTV surveillance systems in urban environments and their purported role in crime prevention.
