Community policing has been a widely discussed approach to law enforcement that emphasizes collaboration between police officers and community members to address crime and disorder issues. This thesis investigates the impact of community policing on crime rates in urban areas through a case study analysis. The study focuses on a specific urban area to evaluate the effectiveness of community policing strategies in reducing crime rates and improving community safety. The introduction provides an overview of the research topic and outlines the background of community policing as an evolving policing strategy. The problem statement highlights the persistent challenges of crime in urban areas and the need for innovative approaches to address these issues. The objectives of the study are to assess the effectiveness of community policing in reducing crime rates, identify the limitations of current community policing initiatives, and evaluate the scope and significance of community policing in urban areas. The literature review explores existing research on community policing, crime rates in urban areas, and the impact of community engagement on crime prevention.
