This thesis investigates the impact of social media on language evolution, aiming to explore the dynamic relationship between social media platforms and the transformation of language patterns and usage. The rapid expansion and integration of social media in everyday communication have generated significant interest in how these digital spaces influence language evolution. Through a comprehensive literature review, this study examines existing research on the subject and identifies gaps in the current understanding of the phenomenon. The research methodology employed in this study includes qualitative analysis of language data extracted from various social media platforms, as well as surveys and interviews to gather insights from users. The findings reveal the diverse ways in which social media platforms shape language evolution, including the emergence of new linguistic features, changes in communication styles, and the influence of online communities on language norms. The implications of these findings are discussed in the context of linguistic theory and sociolinguistic frameworks, highlighting the complex interplay between technology, communication, and language evolution.
